My Hotel... (snowless)
Historic Main Street...is well marked, but since the minute you step onto the red cobblestone sidewalks you feel like you are in a time warp! The real Williamstown has got nothing on this!
(Um...notice the lack of anything white and fluffy??) - The charm is complete with the Amish Peddler. I inquired about an actual horse and buggy ride, but - not one of the amenities offered.
This location, however - caught my vino-based attention immediately. I quickly forget to be amazed at the face that I wasn't wearing a coat and was drawn in by those little letters on the bottom of the sign.
That's right - a tasting room! A meditation room AND a wine tasting room on the SAME trip? This is just too good to be true...and it was. Mmm....I tried all their local reds - dry, sweet, semi-sweet...dry with a sweet finish - Y.U.M!
A warm and comfortable, pre-dinner buzz reminded me once again to document the LACK OF SNOW!
Take a gander across the street and you will see....outdoor seating - IN MARCH!!!! It turned out that the resturant was owned by the winery, hence served all their fab reds with dinner! Want to take a guess where I dined?

Lovely! Yes, Martha, is correct, a rain collection barrel so that they can water their plants with the wonderful water of Mother Nature. Most of us have them here...we like to recycle!

Wow! I can't believe anyone could eat outside in MARCH. I am watching the snow fall in Seattle and am fed up. Looks like I am heading to Missouri. I do love tea, dining al fresco and shopping!

Welcome to the midwest...where it can go from 20 degrees to 80 degress in a week. You just caught a good time...and with no tornadoes!
Yeah, the rain collection barrel would have been easier to identify if it had looked like there was a way to get the water out!
Got to love finding gems of places when you travel! A rain collection barrel was my guess too. What an interesting place you visited. There's no snow here you know... ;) Although crazy March weather saw sun, flurries and rain all in the space of 15 minutes before the sun came back today.
Looks like a wonderful town to be visiting!

What a great little town! I love to visit places like that. The gutter running into barrel priceless.
